We offer a wide variety of educational programs for the public and school groups in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Learn to appreciate the birds and wildflowers that you see. Capture the beauty of nature through photography, or explore the High Sierra Trail on a guided backpack trip. You’re sure to find a course that creates a memorable adventure of learning and fun.

» Categories of Classes for 2010
Easy: involves short walks; hiking is not the focus.
Easy to moderate: hiking under 5 miles with moderate elevation gain less than 1000 feet.
Strenuous: an experience that is about physical activity; hiking over 5 miles per day with elevation gain over 1000 feet.
Very strenuous: you must be in top shape, for possible long mileage, off trail travel, steep gradients, high elevations, etc.

Membership - Help us Help the Parks

The Sequoia Natural History Association is the primary non-profit education partner for Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. We operate the park bookstores, assist visitor center operation, run the Sequoia Field Institute, operate Crystal Cave tours and the Pear Lake Ski Hut, and provide funds for National Park Service education and visitor programs; protection of caves, and black bears.

Join when you register for your course and receive a discount as indicated in the course list. Other member benefits include 15% discount in our visitor center bookstores, 10% to 15% discount in most other national park visitor center bookstores in the United States, cave and Pear Lake discounts, invitation to our annual picnic in Sequoia, and more.
